White Chlorella is a prominent product in the distribution of functional food ingredients due to its nutrient content. It is characterized by a very high protein content – between 40 and 60% of the dry weight – and a high content of polyunsaturated fats and polysaccharides, including Beta1-3glucan which plays an important role in preventing cardiovascular disease. It is also very rich in potassium, magnesium, and zinc, all elements of primary importance in the functioning of a healthy organism, and is a source of vitamins A, B, C and E.
